Cynergy Bank releases up to £20,000 in the person’s name alone without probate. Above that, it asks for a grant of probate (or letters of administration).
“We may be willing to release the funds held in the account(s) of the deceased, to the Personal Representative(s) of the deceased without needing sight of Grant of Probate or Grant of Letters of Administration.”
